FERN JONES
01:30:57
I am old enough to have been part of some firsts:I was the first female student to be a waitperson at the UCLA Faculty Club in 1971. Before that, they would only hire guys. I was also among the first women allowed to be a mail carrier (1970) before then, women could only work inside the post office. I love sharing that with my sons!
Catherine Parker
01:31:09
I agree with Amy!

Persona5fan2017
01:35:12
the way it affected me is very effective to the point I would feel negativity to it. I was a skilled artist in Japanese anime but was bullied since I was young and boys would tease me a lot saying I will never become an anime artist. despite that I continue to work hard and continue to follow my dreams as an artist and hopefully work as animator in Japan.
Angeli Francois (she/her)

@Persona build a community of female anime artists, make your own things, and tell your own stories! It’s a very successful strategy in entertainment right now…because people are tired of being under and misrepresented in media. <3

Phil Gussin
02:00:58

Shannon Doronio She/Her/Ella
02:09:23
OMG yes.
Angeli Francois (she/her)
02:09:26
^^
Siane Holland
02:09:26
Dolores Huerta was married to one of Cesar Chavez’s brothers and she raised not one, not two but 11 children while advocating fiercely on the front lines of the movement. Such a tour de force!
Shannon Doronio She/Her/Ella
02:09:53
I do our taxes, the accountant always calls my husband with questions, and then my husband hands me the phone.
Angeli Francois (she/her)
02:09:57
@Siane "That Part"
Pamela Williams-Páez [she/her/hers/ella]
02:10:04
I’m more nervous around liberal hetero women who support patriarchy and perpetuate gender stereotypes than I am the Phyllis Schlafleys and Karens of the world. At least we know where PS stands. Internalized sexism is poison. Essentialism falls flat.
Siane Holland
02:10:11
Yes Angeli! : )
Angeli Francois (she/her)
02:10:49
Preach Nikki
Jasmine Ruys
02:10:57
@Samantha - that happened to me when I went to buy my house (2014). They put my husband's name down as the Buyer and me down as the co-buyer. I made them change it. It was my name on the loan - so I wanted my name first on the deed.
Angeli Francois (she/her)
02:11:49
^^ erasure. So glad you said something @ Jasmine
Jessica Frettlohr
02:12:01
Wow Jasmine and Shannon! You ladies know whats up!!!!

Equal rights
Samantha McCray
02:12:52
@Jasmine- it's definitely something more people should pay attention to, way too normalized
Amy Foote (College of the Canyons)
02:12:53
Many women, especially heterosexual women, are very male identified because of how society has put men on a pedestal as the protectors, providers and in charge. I smash that!!! Women need to take back their strength and fight for who we are and what we bring to this world!!
Nadia Maciejewski
02:13:20
Amy I really like what you said!
Shannon Doronio She/Her/Ella
02:13:24
TY AMY! So true.
Angeli Francois (she/her)
02:13:51
Equal means equal
Shannon Doronio She/Her/Ella
02:15:01
Great analytical assessment Nikki! One of the biggest challenges when it comes to Equal Rights? FEAR. The false idea that if one person gains power, another loses it.
Angeli Francois (she/her)
02:15:48
To all our allies you will not lose by moving with us
Justin
02:15:50
It starts at the local level
Amy Foote (College of the Canyons)
02:15:56
And no I am not a man hater I just want more male feminists that respect females as equals and realize change needs to take place and we need male allies in all aspects!
Angeli Francois (she/her)
02:16:06
@Justin agree
andrea motschenbacher
02:16:06

MICHAEL FELIX
02:16:12
question for the Judge, will an ERA amendment really eliminate or threaten a woman's right to alimony [especially for abandoned women]? or child custody protections?
Angeli Francois (she/her)
02:16:53
@Nikki yes!!!
Angeli Francois (she/her)
02:17:04
Please fight with me!!
Jasmine Ruys
02:17:06
@Angeli - yes!!! It is not that someone needs to lose in order for people to gain. My husband did not lose by having his name second. We both got a house!
Jessica Frettlohr
02:17:10

So many people fought for the right to have their voices heard, and it is a great disservice not to go out and vote. I starts at the vocal level and gains strength move to the higher levels
