To echo what Flavio said, I think this digital enviroment has allowed students to get more involved in the campus community

For Free Mental Health and Personal Counseling Students can call the COC Student Health & Wellness Center at 661-362-3259 to make an appointment either live or zoom. Students can also drop in.....the center is across from the bookstore on the way the Cougar Cafe.. Just ring the door bell M-F. Students can also e mail to studenthealthcenter@canyons.edu to make an appt or ask a question. Everyone can also go onto the our local website at BeTheDifferenceSCV.org for information and a host of local resources.

Great point Mr. President. I heard that the majority of communication (up to 90%) is non-verbal; meaning its that human element that we miss from the zoom environment.

01:03:33
Great conversation all. Love the students input! I need to go teach. Have a great rest of your panel! Take care all!!

01:06:26
I love the ideas. They're in line with some other conversations in College Planning Team and the Institutional Effectiveness and Inclusive Excellence committee. We're looking at a welcome back event where faculty, students and staff can connect at the beginning of the spring semester. Stay tuned...

01:06:55
Yes Daylene everyone had amazing ideas I hope they come into fruition

01:12:12
There is a joint workshop during Spring 2021 FLEX week hosted by ASG President & Faculty Professional Development Chair to have a conversation among faculty and students. The workshop is titled, "RE-ACT" and is currently scheduled for Wednesday, February 2nd, 2:30pm - 4:00pm. It will be an opportunity for connection and learn how we may help each other. We would love to have many voices!

01:13:13
Thank you all for your kind conversation today. I have to go. Be well

01:14:02
Thank you, Teresa.

01:15:11
I often open my classes with different ice breakers that give us a chance to laugh and learn from each other. I often take time to talk to my students and ask them how they are doing, and shoot the breeze - taking time to listen to them, especially those who don’t talk have been motivated to speak more since they saw we all listened.

01:16:11
@DavidHeredia I love this so so much I am going to suggest that to some of my professors

01:17:18
@Ciara, students sometimes see us just as teachers not necessarily as friends. But we have a chance to cultivate that.

01:17:38
@DavidHeredia I 100% agree

01:22:09
At the root it starts with starting genuine conversations, not lectures.

01:40:39
Thank you to all of our panelists for the authentic dialogue this afternoon.Thank you to all of our faculty, staff and students in the audience for sharing your afternoon with us.Thank you, Brandon, for facilitating today's much needed dialogue.Have a restful evening!

01:41:24
Thank you Daylene and Brandon for letting me a part of this dialogue

01:41:43
Thank you all for the conversation.

01:41:51
We have nearly 20,000 students, including our in-service agreement (public safety and first responders) students.

01:44:35
In my class, certain students have opened up to me about personal issues they have been dealing with and felt comfortable talking to me. I was there to listen, but the issues were so heavy I had to get them over to counseling.

01:45:35
Thanks all. I have another meeting.

01:46:08
Thank you everyone. What a wonderful conversation! I have to head out to another meeting.

01:48:22
Thank you, Siane. This is also in line with some conversations that came out of College Planning Team and the Institutional Effectiveness and Inclusive Excellence committee. We're looking at getting some things in place for the spring 2022 semester.

01:50:20
Thank you! I appreciate what everyone has shared!

01:55:47
