Are you writing for publication on the COC website, or print publications, or…?

32:02
that sounds lovely!!

32:32
Hi Ken - I do both~ I write news releases, which are posted on the COC website and are often used by local media outlets. I also write content for our internal publications, Breaking News and Bottom Line.

Stephanie, I’m an English-Creative Writing major transferring to CSUN in the fall. Are there any journalism-centric classes you think a creative writing major would benefit from taking? I plan to use my degree to live/work in China to blog/write creatively wile teaching ESL and being a resource for connecting potential students to COC’s 2+2 program.

I would definitely recommend taking Journalism 101 for a solid introduction to news-style writing. I’m not familiar with CSUN’s journalism program anymore, but it’s a great program!

Great, thank you!

thank you!

Ken - If you can take a class with Tim Whyte at CSUN, do it. He’s the current editor of The Signal and his experience is invaluable. You’ll learn a ton from him.

Eric, thank you. I will look for him.
